Insuranceland has been a family run business since its opening in 1982. Peter and Pat Hainer started the company (then known as P. Hainer Insurance Brokers Inc.) in the basement of their family home.
Their eldest son, Paul Hainer, started at the company in 1986. From then, Paul worked his way through every position and task the company had to offer. From data entry, to customer service and sales, Paul is now the current President of Insuranceland.
From the companies founding, Peter and Pat always maintained full ownership. They both shared responsibility for the operation and growth of the business. Peter was in the forefront and with many years of insurance experience he led a small but strong sales team. Pat, on the other hand, was the administrator of the firm. With her team of co-op students and support staff, she ensured the company ran smoothly.
The Insuranceland team suffered greatly when Pat passed away on March 7th of 1993. It was then Paul's time to step into some very big shoes and assist Peter in managing the company.
In 1989, Paul’s younger brother Mark joined the business. Mark’s forte and true strength was sales. He joined Peter’s sales team to help the growth of the family business. Another sad say came on April 12th, 1996 when Rick received a call that Mark had passed away the prior evening.
With the passing of Mark, Rick made the decision that he would join the family business once he graduated from college. By 2003, Rick completed the full family environment at Insuranceland and joined the team. Rick is currently the Vice President of Technology and Marketing.
Today as Peter is semi-retired, Paul and Rick manage the company as a team. Back in 2006, Paul’s wife Sophie also joined the team at Insuranceland and is currently the Office Manager.
My team and I have been committed to working with organizations that make a difference. Not only within the Insurance industry but more importantly our community. In 2008 when we moved Insuranceland to Mississauga, I challenged my team to make a difference that would have a positive impact on our community. Over the past years, we have raised thousands of dollars for different charities who make a difference.
